Two performances and a discourse on sound production and listening in movement as an interrelation of body, things and environment.
READY MAKING 6 deals with the aspect of the movement of sound actions with things. Practiced and remembered body movements, hand movements on everyday tools or musical instruments are incorporated into the sound actions of musicians, performers or dancers. How does hearing influence movements and vice versa?
The solo performances by Jan Rozman and Janine Eisenächer presented this evening address the interrelation of body and environment. Dance scientist Stephanie Schroedter will contribute thoughts on auditory kinesthesia.
The program is related to the exhibition of the same title at Errant Sound - Project Space for Sound Art in Berlin-Mitte - where the READY MAKING series curated by Janine Eisenächer and Steffi Weismann is located.

MOVING through/with SOUND
A choreo-geography and relationscape. Pt. 1: Cycling
Lecture and Sound Performance by Janine Eisenächer
MOVING through/with SOUND is a series of sound installations and performances that explore the multiple relationships between sound and movement on one's own body in different environmental situations and forms of movement.
In Pt. 1: Cycling, the performance and sound artist processes her personal sound productions, listening experiences, and environmental relationships while cycling through the Apulian mountain landscape of Gargano, reflecting on them in a narrative way. The movement, material and environmental sounds recorded with a zoom recorder attached to her leg are choreographed or composed in the performance with body movements and speech/voice to create a sonic landscape of relationships. In this work, Eisenächer explores material and bodily sound action knowledge in movement and in it the interactions between sound production (including the recording situation), sound perception and her own movements.
The lecture performance is part of the program of READY MAKING #6 - Choreography and Composition: Sounds and Bodies in Motion and accompanies the sound installation of the same name presented in the sound art project space Errant Sound (July 1-3 and July 8-10, both 4-8pm, Rungestr. 20, 10179 Berlin).

Thinging
Performance by Jan Rozman
Thinging (2018) is a visceral reaction to the world of things we are living in. It thinks and it sings. The stage becomes a space of contact for the living and non-living matter; an environment where things can relate, communicate and coexist, perhaps revealing a different side.
The piece works with spaces of being in-between – between objects and subjects, between existence, speculative existence and non-existence, inaction and activity, saturation, calmness and emptiness, light, dusk and darkness, quotidian, mysterious and poetic, as well as between individual present bodies.
The creative process is rooted in a performative research on materiality, started during Jan’s study at Solo/Dance/Authorship master study program at the Inter-University Centre for Dance in Berlin. Conceptually, it leans on the ideas developed by philosophers of speculative realism and object-oriented ontology (OOO) and their understanding of things. Considered as a non-instrumental entity, things are enabled to expose their poetic potential and uncover their own choreographic force alongside and in relationship to the performer on stage.
