Jan Rozman

Jan Rozman (b. 1991) is a Slovenian freelance dancer, choreographer and performer living and working between Ljubljana and Berlin. In his artistic practice he deals with themes such as extended bodies, material semiotics, ecology, imagination, (science) fiction and humor, among others, in search of relevant performative articulations for the post-internet/anthropocene age. Rozman studied contemporary dance at the Arts Gymnasium in Ljubljana and choreography at SNDO (AhK) in Amsterdam, and earned a master's degree in solo/dance/authorship at HZT (UdK) in Berlin. He created several auteur works, most recently Things Thing, MEMEMEME, Thinging and f(being), and performed at festivals in Slovenia and Germany, among others. His solo Thinging was awarded the main prize at the 10th Gibanica, the Biennial of Contemporary Dance Art in Slovenia. In 2019 he received the danceWEB scholarship and the Ksenija Hribar-Promising Choreographer Award.
