Yannis Adoniou | KUNST-STOFF productions

The choreographer and artistic director of KUNST STOFF productions, Yannis Adoniou, is a renowned Greek artist who was born in Athens in 1968. He received his dance training at the Greek National Dance School and John Neumeier's Hamburg Ballet School. Since 1998, he has been at the helm of the critically acclaimed art organisation KUNST-STOFF productions. Adoniou was a solo dancer with Alonzo King's LINES Ballet, at the San Francisco Opera, and a regular guest artist in the United States and Europe. In addition to his work with the KUNST-STOFF Dance Company, Adoniou has created works for companies and universities such as the National Opera House of Kuwait, the Seattle Opera, the Sacramento Ballet, the Bonn Ballet, the Opera Santa Barbara, the Modern Department of the University of Utah, Florida State University, the Lines Ballet/Dominican University and the Companhia Instável, Porto, Portugal. Adoniou's works have been commissioned and presented by the Marina Abramovic Institute and the NEON Foundation. For his work as a dancer and choreographer, he has received support and recognition from the Isadora Duncan Awards, the Irvine Foundation, Dance/USA, the 2005 Goldie Awards, the San Francisco Arts Commission, the MANCC National Centre for Choreography, the Gerbode Foundation, and the Greek Ministry of Culture.
