What connects the divine with the human? The temporary with the eternal? The place with its name?
Delos: the Adilos island that roamed the Aegean and was fixed – declared – by Poseidon at the command of Zeus, so that Artemis and Apollo could be born there. From this symbolic starting point, the work Delosη attempts a journey between myth and contemporary experience, with physicality, poetry, sound and live music becoming the means of expression of a common ritual.
Five performers with a strong stage presence search on stage for the collective and personal imprint of memory, in an open dialogue with space and the past. A performance of catharsis and reflection, where the body becomes a witness to the present and a bearer of a timeless myth.
This work was created at the invitation of the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades, for a contemporary performance on the island of Delos.
