Nir de Volff Is an established Berlin based Choreographer and director. He study dance in Tel Aviv and was guest for Pina Bausch’s Viktor at the Israeli opera house. In 2000 he moved to Amsterdam and started to create his own work. In 2004 he moved to Berlin and created his first piece for Sophiensaele Tanztage festival. Between 2004-2008 he dance at the prestige theater Schaubühne am Lehninerplatz under Constanza Macras productions. In summer 2007 he grounded his company NIR DE VOLFF / TOTAL BRUTAL. Since then, the company has been working at DOCK 11 theater as a base, touring worldwide and creating international multicultural projects in different metropolitan cities, mixing social-political subjects with entertainment values. De Volff Choreographies has been seen in theatres such as Oper Frankfurt, Thalia Theater Hamburg, D’Haus Düsseldorf, Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Sibiu Festival Romenia, ZIL Culture Centre Moscow, SESC Pinheiros (São Paulo), Macau art Center(Chine) Esplanade Theatre(Singapur), Bangkok National Center for Dramatic Art, Stadttheater St. Pölten (Österreich), Warehouse 2 ( Jaffa Port), Tel Aviv, Ponec Theatre (Prag), Teatro Alle Tese (Venedig), Amphithéâtre de Gesù (Montréal), among others cities in Germany and around the world.
De Volff Collaborate with Artists such as Falk Richter -Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, She She Pop- HAU Berlin, Katherina Neumann VollksBühne Berlin among others.
De Volff developed a movement method called BBM-Breathing Bodies Movement which he teach worldwide in dance and art centres, art academies and private sector, BBM is designed for dancers, actors and all people who like to move and activate the body through breath. Nir de Volff / TOTAL BRUTAL work with wide range of professional performers and with different theater range from small to national. De Volff is invited to create multicultular projects with social-political content in different cities around the world from Bangkok to Sau Paulo.
In the year 2021 de Volff appointed as the first choreograph for the mixable Forward dance company in Leipzig (Germany ). In summer 2022 de Volff was invited to open the prestige art festival in Weimar. On October 2024 de Volff was invited to create „ Everybody dance Now # Chemnitz “ at the newly renovated Hartman fabrik performance event with 23 performers of all ages for Chemnitz culture city program book opening Europe 2025, On May 2025 with the invitation of Kultur Projekt Berlin, de Volff choreographed “Dancing memory” with Jewish and non-Jewish dancers as a special outdoor creation around one of Berlin's most important synagogues, the Frakelnufer, to mark 80 years since the end of World War II.
