Founded by Renate Graziadei and Arthur Stäldi in Hamburg in 1994, laborgras has made a name for itself as an interdisciplinary dance collective. Working with artists from the fields of dance, music, visual arts and performance in changing constellations, laborgras creates works that understand artistic practice as an open space for thought. laborgras stands for a consistent attitude beyond the mainstream - for aesthetic radicalism, research on the body and dialogue with other arts and the audience.

The productions of laborgras have received numerous awards and have been shown internationally. Own productions as well as numerous commissioned works for dance companies and institutions in Europe and the Ivory Coast emphasise the versatility and artistic presence of the collective.

laborgras has been honoured with the Kurt Jooss Prize (2004) and the Berlin Art Prize (2015). Renate Graziadei received a DER FAUST nomination in 2015. Since 2009, the collective has received continuous support from the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion and other sponsors.
