Decolonial and intersectional BIPoC/Latinx (Black Indigenous People of Color/of Latin origin) platform for dance, performance, installation, documentation, discourse and screen dance.
PLATAFORMA BERLIN makes the body the protagonist and overriding theme while exploring nowadays geopolitical issues, connecting ancestrality with the future of human and more-than-human bodies in the twilight of ecological catastrophe.
PLATAFORMA BERLIN creates a movement of intercontinental Amazons & Shamans proposing geopolitical actions that address the way we influence society with myths, rituals, animality and statements of progress.
The artists invited to this 11th edition of PLATAFORMA BERLIN, from Mexico, Zimbabwe, Chile, Guatemala, Colombia and USA, make a transdisciplinary reflection on the current existential crisis of humanity, while embodying the transformation of colonial wounds in the twilight of ecological catastrophe.

PLATAFORMA BERLIN is an initiative of the BIPoC/Latinx curator Martha Hincapié Charry in collaboration with local artists and institutions such as Barazani, Radialsystem, Instituto Cervantes, Uferstudios Berlin, Mime Centrum, Goethe-Institut and Ibero-American Embassies and in co-production with DOCK ART.

A vast world is reflected in a dark inner life. This work is a choreographic exercise and presents a mobile sculptural installation, a futuristic vision of the cyborg body.
The medium is the collection and study of movements and objects, which together form a kind of armour. It proposes the creation of a "new being" made up of layers of different bodies and internal and external architectures that strive for life through movement. In its exploration, it challenges and examines the material and symbolic possibilities of an ex-body.
The concept of „Ren“ is based on dialogue, speculation and fiction about a possible future in which cyborg resilience prevails and adaptation to new environments is possible through material change. It claims the right to imagine a mestizo future where new identities and entities can emerge and where material and immaterial bodies coexist.
„Ren“ is the first piece of the research project "Cancelled Futures" by choreographer, performer and dancer Valentina Wong.

Take a look at me and tell me what you see. You don’t have to love me but l am not your enemy. They never talk positive; their words are full of parasites sucking people’s minds and poisoning them with hatred. Walk in good ways to have long days. If you feel what you are doing is right then why do you hide behind a mask? Why then do you hate and turn your attention to a little guy who points from the sideline. For sure, power doesn’t change who you are but it reveals who you are. Be very careful with that you are preaching? We are not stupid nor your fools clearly, we have been to school.

Sacrificio Recíproco
Carolina Caycedo / Columbia, UK
Caycedo’s film, Reciprocal Sacrifice, takes viewers on the journey of a salmon seeking to return to its spawning grounds in the Sawtooth Mountains. The salmon narrates the challenges it faces as it swims upstream and tells of the heating of the water in the lakes, creeks and rivers in the Snake River Basin. With voiceovers by members of the Nez Perce Tribe, viewers learn of the salmon’s generosity in sustaining people and ecosystems over generations. Caycedo writes, “this performative generosity is at the core of regional indigenous survival, their 20th-century fight for fishing rights and self-governance…. The film looks to highlight the cosmological story concerning self-sacrifice, generosity, love and gratitude enjoining us to care for salmon-human relations and inviting humans to take the turn to self-sacrifice in order to save the salmon relative.”
