Choreographer Tomi Paasonen and the eclectic cast of his Queer Church Of Ballet, study their relationships to happiness as a starting point to a stage piece that combines contemporary ballet, performance and drag.
After his recent queer ballets „Attitude“ and „Pas de Q“, Tomi now returns with a new production „Happy Hour“. Two queer ballet dancers, two drag artists, and a trans performer / singer, turn on their transformative queer superpowers to twist our zeitgeist into a spectacle in 3 tableaus with the theme Above, Below and In The Middle.
Happy Hour is so good it's bad. It’s a mirage. It's the renaissance of death and a meditation on the battlefield. It is a prayer for gaiety and a lament of ecstasy. It's the spirituality of silliness. It's the clearance sale of heartfelt condolences for a party on the precipice. It’s delusions of grandeur on a budget. It’s dead-ends on a rollercoaster. It’s collecting points on a beach. It’s so cute I’m dying! It's the question of what matters and when not to give a fuck.
