Ruben Reniers was born in Jakarta and grew up in Rotterdam, where he studied contemporary dance at the renowned Hogeschool voor de Kunsten / CODARTS. His career as a dancer has taken him to several theatres in Germany. Based in Berlin since 2009, he pursues his fascination for movement and composition by creating his own choreographic works. His choreographies are generally characterised by a powerful, virtuosic and dynamic as well as delicate, differentiated and intimate style of movement and have already attracted a great deal of attention both nationally and internationally.
