Charlie Fouchier, born in Paris, graduated from the Centre National de la Danse Contemporaine in Angers, France, after completing a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He went on to work as a dancer/performer with internationally renowned choreographers such as Tino Sehgal, Aina Alegre, Laurent Chétouane, Isabel Lewis, Moritz Majce and Johann Kresnik. His works are conceived as choreographic models of performative events and are shown throughout Germany. In his artistic work he combines choreographic approaches, performance art and visual art, based on phenomenological analyses of perceptual processes and research elements from neuroscience, philosophy and psychoanalysis.
