
Carlos Aller & Cecilia Bartolino is a dance theatre company founded in 2022. The duo creates performances that combine dance, theatre and socio-political issues, with a unique sense of humour that adds lightness and addresses serious topics. Their work aims to engage audiences of all ages: Children, adults and elders. Their performances are highly adaptable, switching seamlessly between street, site-specific, theatre and gallery environments to make their art accessible to a variety of spaces and audiences.
They have toured internationally, collaborating with major festivals, renowned directors and prestigious institutions to expand their artistic influence and reach in different cultural contexts. Their work has won several dance awards, reflecting the quality and originality of their artistic vision. In addition to their performances, they run workshops and classes, sharing their artistic approach with individuals and groups. They also create choreographies for educational institutions and companies, tailoring their work to suit various contexts and requirements.
Carlos Aller, born in 1990, first came into contact with the world of dance in 2005 when he started breakdancing on the streets of his home town of Valladolid, Spain. He then took part in competitions throughout Spain. Moved to Berlin in 2012 and became a founding member of Frantics Dance Company in 2013. Carlos created his first solo „T.I.M.O.R“ in 2015; further choreographic works „VENENA“ (2019), „SECRETO“ (2020) and „Un Secreto“ (2022). In addition to his choreographic work for the Frantics Dance Company, he has choreographed at the Akram Khan Summer Intensive, Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance and commissioned works at the Stadttheater Osnabrück and Of Curious Nature, among others.
Cecilia Bartolino, born in Italy, began dancing at the age of five. After graduating from the Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance in Germany, she joined the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel and then began working as a freelance dancer in Tel Aviv. Cecilia has worked with renowned artists such as Romeo Castellucci and Wang Ramirez. In addition to various collaborations, she founded her own company together with Carlos Aller, for whose work they have been awarded prizes, including 2nd prize at the Stuttgart International Festival (2023) and 2nd prize at Danza en el Camino (2024).
