Once a year POOL presents a selection of fascinating dance film productions from all over the world, making the event a meeting place for creative minds involved in the fields of dance, film, fashion and advertisement. The festival is focussed on films that not only record dance but create independent filmchoreographies through the intense interplay between dance and cinematic tools like camera and editing.
COMPETITION
Each year artists are invited to submit dance short films and dance animations (max. 30 minutes).
The curatorial team of POOL will creates a film programme from all submissions, which ist presented on the festival evenings.
The selected films – our PEARLS – are on a par and reflect the diversity of the genre.
POOL supports selected artists with an artist prize, the PEARLS ARTIST PRIZE.
POOL SHINE
POOL Shine is a special format launched in 2015 that highlights important artistic positions in the field of dance film.
POOL ON TOUR
POOL on Tour presents selected films at other art and cultural events.
