Accompanying our new piece, VIEW.POINT.MARY, you will have the opportunity to get to know some of the work methods of Cranky Bodies a/company, all based on improvisation.
After a warm-up, we will dive into the Six Viewpoints developed by Mary Overlie, a dancer, choreographer, and teacher who seeks to formulate a system for a new kind of theater and dance. Her method is based on the idea that anyone working in the performing arts can enhance their ability to communicate with the audience, as everyone becomes observer/participant in the viewpoints.
Another aspect of our Cranky method is exploring Contact Improvisation and what it means to us.
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced movers.
