This special setting gives dancers the opportunity to have an in-depth experience with one choreographer, working on an idea and presenting it in a performance setting.

timelapse | marcos morau
in recent years marcos morau and his company la veronal have developed a particular language that has grown throughout all their creations over the years. in timelapse this particular language will be further explored on stage. kova is the name of this form; a fusion of compositional strategies, architectural typologies, diverse and concrete tools, quality patterns, and guided composition and improvisation exercises. kova never starts from an emotional state but is born from forms, drawings, and abstract qualities and from there it investigates possible concrete situations. the sum of all this amalgam of resources brings the audience closer to the genuine world of la veronal. like a painting by francis bacon, marco morau’s language of expression moves at the interface between abstraction and the theatrical: a sum of illogical and inorganic forms that allows to create perfectly controlled characters full of mysteries and contradictions.

liberation | micaela taylor
experience a performance project which dives deep into storytelling and conversations about nuanced characters and physical risk. improvisation is the origin of this work. the ideas will be drawn from repertory pieces of micaela’s company, tl collective – provoking your senses and challenging the performers.

inter-weaving | victor quijada / rubberband
victor quijada created inter-weaving for hubbard street dance chicago in 2014. the work uses controlled athleticism, virtuosity, and partnering work equally. performance project participants will re-create excerpts from this piece. they will also be introduced to the basics of the rubberband method, which prepares the body to execute break influenced floor-work; inversions; and a specific approach to partnering. expect an unpredictable stage experience with stunning performers.
