The Third Dance

In The Third Dance, Niv Sheinfeld & Oren Laor reflect on love, mortality, and the human need to be seen and acknowledged. The work begins in the realm of romanticism and its familiar clichés—Mahler’s music, flowers, a record player—and gradually peels them away to reveal the fragile, persistent longing beneath these cultural symbols.
Created as a continuation of Two-Room Apartment (2012), The Third Dance is the duo’s second work inspired by the seminal choreography of Liat Dror & Nir Ben Gal. As a couple in life and on stage, Sheinfeld & Laor return to this iconic work from a contemporary perspective, acknowledging the time that has passed since their last duet: the changes in their bodies and relationship, their evolving presence on stage, and their renewed relationship with the audience.
