Digging deeper into the layers of identities, we explore how to be in together in our difference.
In response to the increase of Asian hate crimes arose from the pandemic, Asian / LOVE follows the storyline of queer artists of Asian descent by turning around the focus from blaming to treasuring. It researches identity, displacement, and belonging through highlighting the parallels between fish and human migration. What might we learn from fish migration about how we can accept others and celebrate our differences? Asian/LOVE includes ancestral practices of grief work, celebration, storytelling, and the gifts of acceptance through an intimate queer journey of dance, song-ness, and connection.
