SKORONEL RELOADED

Tanztheater Skoronel – founded in Berlin and Wuppertal – existed as an independent professional and subsidized company without a fixed venue between 1984 and 1998. In 2021 we – now between fifty and seventy years old – came together as SKORONEL RELOADED for a new joint production: Die Erde ist gewaltig schön, doch sicher ist sie nicht.

Judith Kuckart studied literature and theatre studies and briefly dance at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. Between 1984 and 1998 she realised seventeen productions with her dance theatre Skoronel and was responsible for choreography, direction and the texts. She has been writing novels since 1990, most recently her tenth novel Kein Sturm, nur Wetter was published by DuMont Verlag. She has worked as a freelance director since 1999.

Libby Farr began her dance training in Texas and received a scholarship to the School of American Ballet. After her training, she worked with the San Diego Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, Dallas Ballet, Zurich Ballet and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. She was head of the dance department at ETAGE Berlin and then joined the German National Theatre in Weimar as a dancer and training director. Frank Herfeld
studied visual communication at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf and at the same time took classes with various dance teachers in Wuppertal. He was a prop maker at the Wuppertaler Bühnen and the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. This was followed by his own choreographic work and training as an occupational therapist. After training as a nurse, Sabina Stücker completed dance training at the ETAGE Berlin. She has been a freelance cultural producer since 2001, working with Reut Shemesh, Polymer DMT/ Fang Yun Lo, Julio Cesar Iglesias Ungo, Henrietta Horn, Merighi &Mercy, Antje Velsinger, Ben J.Riepe, among others. From 2006 to 2016 she directed the festival 638 Kilo Tanz in Essen and since 2018 she is part of the management team of Maschinenhaus Essen. Dance Theatre Skoronel 1992-1995

Marleen Taylor
studied ballet and dance education at the Rambert School London. She has worked with John Neumeier, Schauspiel Köln, Tanzforum Köln, Aalto Theater Essen and she has taught at ETAGE Berlin and Tanzfabrik Berlin. Dance Theatre Skoronel 1988-1992

Alice D. Bleistein received a PhD scholarship at the graduate college „European Dream Cultures" in Saarbrücken after studying media studies and German-language literature in Paderborn and is working on her PhD project on the horror dream in contemporary European cinema. She has also been a freelance filmmaker since 2015.
