
Shai Faran is an Israeli dancer, teacher and choreographer currently living in Europe. After her dance training at Misgav High School, she continued her studies at the Haifa Dance Workshop for Dancers and Choreographers. In Israel she danced for the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company II, the Sigma Ensemble and the Dafi Altabab Dance Group.
She has worked with Matej Kejzer, Maya M. Caroll, Yuval Pick, Maura Morales, David Hernandez, Martin Kilvady Jule Flierl and others.
She has created several works that have been honoured with grants from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the foundation named after Ehud Manor, and the Berlin Senate of Culture. In recent years she has taught dance in various settings for professional dancers, BA and MA training programmes, including at the Danish National School of Performing Arts, Stockholm Uniarts, La-Manufacture in Lausanne, CCD University for Music and Dance in Cologne and in dance companies such as Cullberg Dance Company, Scottish Dance Theater, Corpus in Copenhagen and in open workshops around the world, while developing her own work and working as a freelance performer, teacher and choreographer.
