Penelope Wehrli

Penelope Wehrli works at the intersection of space and performance, theatre and media art. Performance and film experiments in the 1980s in New York were followed by space and costume designs for the theatre (a.o. Choreographic Theatre, Johann Kresnik 90-98). Since 1998 she has been developing series of independent works in various hybrid formats. These mostly walk-through site-specific installations she describes as spatial scores. The auto-choreographic is a recurring principle. In “Anatomorphosen”, she weaves the artistic knowledge of several protagonists into a total work of art. Her multilingual light installation 15 Letters - 207 Words can be seen every night at the front of the Brüder Grimm Haus in Moabit, Berlin until 2025.
