Hermann Heisig was born in Leipzig in 1981. It was there that he became interested in contemporary dance at the end of the 1990s. In his work, he developed an idiosyncratic movement language that defies efficiency and incorporates elements of loss of control. In 2021, he founded FORTUNA, a self-organised space at the intersection of choreographic research and community work.
