Berit & Anna Einemo Froysland

Berit Einemo Frøysland is a Norwegian dancer from Lærdal based in Berlin. She graduated at Balettakademien in Stockholm in 2016 and has since worked with Deborah Hay, Marina Abramovic, Satoshi Kudo, Katrina Bastian, Siciliano Contemporary Ballet, and Jeff Pedersen Productions. She has made own dance pieces and films funded and supported by the Arts Council Norway and The Fund for Performing Artists Norway and is a recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, among them the Cultural Exchange Scholarship from the Berlin Senate (Tokyo three months). Her first solo piece "Petra" is a piece on the Fassbinder film Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant . She fre­quently collaborates with her twin sister Anna Einemo Frøysland, their most recent duet is A study in the language games of Wittgenstein. She has also been commissioned to create work for the ceremony of Rafto Foundation for Human Rights as well as art and music videos. Her writing, an important part of her artistic prac­tice, has been featured in Norsk Shakespearetidsskrift and Journal for ny dans and she was nominated for the prize "Best critical text of the year 2020/2021" in Norway. She is currently part of the Norwegian National Ballet´s new commitment for emerging female choreographers.

Anna Einemo Frøysland (b. 1992) is from Lærdal in Norway. She graduated from Oslo National Academy of the Arts in Contemporary dance in 2016 and has been working as a dancer in several performances for Nagelhus Schia Productions (Damien Jalet, Erna Omarsdottír and more) Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt, Jeff Pedersen Produksjonar, Marina Abramovic and Ingvild Thingnes. Anna has received funding from Norwegian Arts Council for her own creations, her solo Still was selected as a part of Koreografilaboratoriet at Dansens hus Oslo in 2019. The duet Spil- a study in the language games of Wittgenstein was her first full evening piece. Anna has received scholarships from Norwegian Arts Council, Sparebankstiftinga SFJ and Norske Dansekunstnere. Together with Berit Einemo Frøysland, she was selected Shooting Star at RED International Film Festival in 2019 as well as currently being a part of the Norwegian National Ballet´s new commitment for emerging female choreographers. Anna and Berit are in the early stages of developing a new production called Post house, a research of mechanical clockworks and the body in labor.
