eMERGING BODY

eMERGING BODY

eMERGING BODY is an exploration of negative spaces through the emotional/organic/physical
body and digital space. This research tries to question the possibilities and limits of organic and
virtual states as our individual and collective identity is more and more composed by physical and
virtual layers. With bodies as virtual extensions, we explored a multisensorial organic/virtual
togetherness.
Following the guiding question “How do we let empty/unknown spaces exist, are they really empty?”, we worked with psychosomatic practices and movement research, to come into contact with other bodies. This brought us to the idea of merging and morphing to create a collective body. The contact of skin with skin, was fostered by the idea of becoming one rhythm and one body, and the resulting impossibility of merging which brought us to question how we negotiate space. This collective body is in constant changing, morphing: it is a multiple layered, fluid, virtual-organic being.
