Stadt-Land-Mensch

Idea:
Inhabitants from the Uckermark and Berlin participate in cross-generational artistic participatory processes in order to creatively change and shape the conditions of their living reality. Based on the idea of a social sculpture in the sense of Joseph Beuys, they revive a school in Mittenwalde, one of the saddest villages in the Uckermark with increasingly poor infrastructure, which has been empty since 2002.

What happened so far
In our research, we conducted interviews, brought people together at ThinkTanks, brunches, and breakfasts to talk about community buildings that have been privatized, are still vacant, or are slated to be privatized. We brought together potential operators, users, owners, sponsors, administrators, employees of public authorities and initiatives.
At the moment we are developing concepts for the Hyperschale in Templin, the former school in Hammelspring, the school in Mittenwalde and the post office in Templin. We motivate to fight for the fact that the last real estates in the possession of the municipalities should use above all the inhabitant:inside and their needs. We calculate that the municipalities rather win than lose with it also economically.
We also developed a manifesto that we will stick on vacant properties of the municipalities, so that initiatives are formed in the villages and municipalities, which are committed to public welfare-oriented uses.
We promote the concept of leasing real estate to owners and operators with public welfare oriented uses. These become liquid by this contract, can lend the real estate and thus 25% own capital funds with a possible promotion are necessary with the bank request. In this way, non-owners become owners. The Immoblien would be given back in the Haimfall to the municipality again.
