Sven Seeger

Ballet

Ballet lives from its technical complexity; an anatomical movement principle whose form language allows the most diverse interpretation possibilities. It is my concern to show a way that conveys the structure of this complex dance technique, and at the same time releases the movement with different dynamics. My approach is to convey complex sequences with ease and the use of different dynamics, and to experience and perform them physically in an atmosphere of letting go.

Sven Seeger works as a dancer, choreographer and project initiator. He studied classical and contemporary dance at the Ballet Rambert School London and was a guest at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen.
This was followed by engagements with the Ismael Ivo Company/DNT Weimar, at the Städtische Theatern Chemnitz; as well as guest engagements at the Aalto Theater Essen, Theater Bremen and Oldenburger Staatstheater. He has also performed as a dancer and actor in choreographies and productions by Daniela Kurz, Felix Ruckert, Christoph Loy, Julie Bougard, Isabelle Schad, Jochen Roller and Susanne Lietzow, among others, as well as acting in the films: Eine flexible Frau, Top Girl and Athen... by Tatjana Turanskyj. He choreographed dance and performance projects in the independent scene and at theaters; including Uferstudio1 - 3D 'Poesie Festival, HAU2, Kampnagel X3, Dock11, Dorf macht Oper, Schauspielhaus Chemnitz and Sophiensäle. He is founder of the young performance collective Dance_Lab27 at Haus der Statisitk and realized performative interactions for public space. Since 2013, in collaboration with S27 and raumlabor.berlin, he has initiated community happenings in the form of sustainable and participatory project formats, including wohnWut - die Kampagne / Junipark and die Gärtnerei / Coop Campus. Furthermore, he works as a lecturer and choreographer for dance and performance in dance centers, cultural houses and project formats of independent institutions.
