Exploring (interactive) interfaces between journalism and digital art

JIVE Lab

Interdisciplinary Lab - closed event

Date
Wed, 26.06.2024

Venue
DOCK 11, Saal 4

Kick-off event as part of our "JIVE Labs" project with Headliner gUG. It is the first non-profit organization in Germany to combine journalism and culture in inspiring stage shows. This new trend is called live journalism and is characterized by the integration of artistic elements. Together with experts from different fields, we would like to think ahead about the preparation of journalistic stories with the help of digital art.
The Interdisciplinary Lab will take place on June 26, 2024.

Together with the project team and our approximately 10 invited guests, we will embark on a joint expedition into the unexplored borderland between journalism and digital art. To this end, the DOCKdigital team will provide a comprehensive insight into the fascinating cosmos of digital art tools and present existing software such as chatbots, motion capture technology and much more. The participating cultural journalists will then talk about their research before the interdisciplinary, swarm-intelligent team develops its first cross-border ideas.
The results will be shown in a total of five JIVE Labs from fall 2024. These small lab shows in front of around 20-30 spectators offer a protected space for experiments. The focus is on the question: How do you involve the audience? How do you enable them to get involved in debates? Which digital feedback tools are best suited for this?
