This class explores the balance between the individual and the group: between taking space and making space, personal expression and collective awareness. Dancers are encouraged to challenge their limits and fully “shine,” while remaining attentive to the larger group.
The studio becomes a microcosm of society, where individual growth is inseparable from collective responsibility. We work toward becoming “clever dancers” — performers who listen, adapt, support and contribute, developing sensitivity to timing, space and presence, and learning when to lead, follow or hold space for others.
The physical work is grounded in weight, rhythm and full-body engagement, drawing from contemporary techniques, martial arts and floor work. Improvisation and contact work encourage personal voice and an appreciation of individual differences.
The class combines demanding physical training with curiosity, playfulness and joy, inviting dancers to explore not only their own physicality, but also how they relate to and contribute to a group.
