James Kingsford-Smith

Acrobatics

The 1-hour acrobatics classes are all about building movement confidence while learning somersaults, handstands, partner balancing and flying on the mini trampoline. Each week is different and offers a wide range of techniques, games and challenges to help your child develop acrobatic instincts and physical confidence.

James has toured the world as a professional circus performer, performing shows from Montreal to
Macau. He has stunned audiences at international circus competitions, professional art markets, Olympic ceremonies, and starred in Cirque du Soleil. James began his training in gymnastics at age 5 and has been performing on stage for 15 years. He is a trained actor, stuntman, high diver, comedian, circus instructor, acrobat and world-class aerialist. He is a graduate of the National Institute of Circus Arts, was one of the original ensemble members of Circa (Australia's premier circus company), starred in and directed a major Cirque du Soleil production, and performed at the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Games with Danielle Finzi Pasca. James is also the founder of two self-produced collectives called The BOB Collective and A Movement of Humans. Over the years, these two groups have produced 5 professional productions and toured in 7 different countries. James' work is about illustrating the vulnerable aspects of the human experience and then pushing them to their emotional and physical limits.
