Daniel Drabek

Contemporary Dance for adults

The course is a synergy of improvisation, choreography and impulses. The most important goal of the class is flow, that is, to move from one exercise to the next in order to immerse oneself completely in one's own body feeling. Through exercises from Yoga, Qui Gong, Capoeira and the Contact-Improvisation-Technique the participants are enabled to find their own body language in dance and to communicate with it, in a final improvisation, with other participants.

Daniel Drabek studied art, sports and pedagogy at the University of Essen before attending the University of the Arts in Arnhem and graduating with a BDa in "Theaterdans". Since 2002 he has been working as a dancer for various projects and theaters in Germany and abroad. Among them the Cadance New Dance Festival (DenHaag), Theater Osnabrück and the company Constanza Macras/Dorky Park. Since 2003 he has developed choreographies that have been shown in Arnhem, Osnabrück and Berlin, among others. He is a founding member of the Berlin-based artist group "die elektroschuhe".
