In the framework of THIRD SPACE LAB, an ongoing research on dance, somatics and sonic spatial practice, this evening session explores questions around building capacity, staying with thresholds & practicing regeneration in the context of sound as an
alchemical process of shifting inner states of being, through listening and sensory body tuning.
The session opens with a gentle moving body meditation, transitioning into the listening session where participants are invited to experience sound and listening in movement and stillness, closing with an open conversation.
Sound artists Jojo Schuett aka Jusin and Patricia aka the soundescape co-create a sound journey bringing together their practices through a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments.
Patricia Hegglin is a Swiss-born interdisciplinary researcher and sound artist based in Berlin. Her work explores the intersections of listening, ecology, and nervous system resilience. Through multisensory ritual formats, resonant instruments, and gongs, she creates spaces for deep attunement grounded in somatic practice and trauma-sensitive care. Influenced by her lived experience with ME/CFS, she reframes listening as a practice of attention, regeneration, and relationality. @the__soundescape
Jojo Schütt brings expertise and ongoing research in the media of sound and sound technologies. As a sound designer with a background in literature, theatre & experimental media studies and a keen interest in embodiment and spatial ecology, Jojo brings an extraordinary artistic sensitivity to working with technology, as well as to applying research to practice. @jusnjjshh
Tanja Saban is a dancer, choreographer, Gaga teacher and somatic movement coach. She is co-foundress of D’FRAC, a platform for immersive dance experiences oscillating between club culture, performance and somatics. The heart of her artistic solo practice, g e s c h oe p f, is an ongoing research of the body in motion - a space of dreaming awake and radical imagination in the unfolding of sensory intelligence. Evolving around deep listening practices with the more-than-human world and mythology, she collaboratively develops works at the intersection of sound, dance, science and new technologies. THIRD SPACE LAB is her platform where she conducts an ongoing research in spatial sound and dance and the practice of sonic somatics. @tanjasaban
