Motion capture technology has already found its way into many areas of performing and digital Arts were introduced. With motion capture it becomes possible to capture lifelike human movements to be transferred to digital avatars. With face capturing, even human facial expressions are digitized. These technologies are becoming more and more interesting, especially in the areas of dance and theater. The DIVE Festival of immersive arts and the Planetarium Bochum invite you to one two-day workshop by DOCKdigital Berlin, which work at the interface between the performing arts, work on digital art and game design and bring their digital laboratory to Bochum. You will learn everything about the various modern motion capture technologies, and you will learn how to record body movements with motion capture suits and use them in programs like Blender transferred to a digital avatar. You get to know the hardware and software and try it out the motion capture suits yourself and create your own unique animation.
