THIRD SPACE LAB is a collaborative, embodied research and practice on dance and choreography in relationship to spatial-, immersive sound and aural architecture. Approaching dance as a practice of kinaesthetic deep listening, a methodology evolves that connects spatial audio composition and conscious embodiment processes into choreographic practice.
Intersecting sound and dance as spatial media, space is treated as a creative agent, revealed through physical properties of sound and the moving bodie’s perceptual and cognitive maps as a multidimensional, sensory experience. Physical environments and psychic landscapes are explored acoustically in different approaches to sound and movement creation.

Presences, materiality and the dream substance

Listening to and with spaces, embodied sensing and digital technologies create a dialogue of frequency resonances, where bodies, spaces and materials meet as vibrationally responsive presences. Through sound, touch, movement and spatial listening, surfaces, membranes, objects and architectures receive, filter, amplify and absorb frequencies, shaping a shared field of material exchange. In this resonant field, bodies and environments move across thresholds between the material and the immaterial, revealing space as presence and subtle dream substance.

THIRD SPACE LAB consists of a growing team of sound artists, sound healers, dancers, somatic practitioners and bodyworkers offering workshops, listening sessions and performances at Dock11_digital
