Choreography Processing – 2-Day Workshop
Facilitators: Megumi Eda, David Mariano, Katja Vaghi, Nadja Haas
Workshop Description: Choreography Processing is an intensive 2-day workshop led by experienced choreographers. The focus is on choreographic thinking as a living, evolving process. Participants will explore how movement material emerges, transforms, and gains form through time, attention, and composition.
Through guided improvisation, scores, partner work, and simple compositional tools, the workshop will explore questions such as:
- How are movement impulses generated?
- How is material shaped and developed?
- How are choreographic decisions made?
- How do individual and collective processes interact?
This workshop is designed for dancers and movement artists interested in creative processes, composition, and collaborative work.
At the end of the second day, there will be an informal studio-sharing session. The Sunday evening viewing at 7:00 PM provides friends, colleagues, and interested guests insight into the processes, sketches, and questions explored. This is nota finished performance but a presentation of developmental work.
Format:
- 2 full days (Saturday & Sunday)
- Practice-based and process-oriented
- Co-facilitated by 2–4 choreographers
- Concludes with a mini-viewing / open-studio-sharing on Sunday at 7:00 PM
