"Rhizome" we will let the energy of autumn and winter in. Draw our strength into our roots let the body speak from our depths. We will contact the collective, pulsating body, the grounding, the rooting, the connection with the earth and between living beings. "Rizome" Dance!
In this workshop, we will let in the energy of autumn.
We will connect with the collective, pulsating body, the grounding, the rooting, the connection with the earth and between living beings: drawing our strength from our roots and letting our bodies speak from our depths.
Our widely ramified shared root system can develop. We can perceive these connections in our bodies and share them with other dancers, creating a dance of belonging.
There are forgotten spaces in our body memory where time seems to have stood still. We will open and air these spaces.
The slowness and silence between movements is the door opener for new possibilities.
In Butoh dance, we move our bodies from strong, repetitive imaginations.
These imaginings support the intensity of our inner movement. The healing powers of our nerves and fascia are awakened.
The polyvagal nervous system is strongly activated in Butoh dance, allowing the dance to arise from the very core of our being and bring our innate forms of expression to light. In Butoh dance, we allow the body to speak to us from our innermost layers. This results in a dance that can touch the collective subconscious.
In this workshop, each person is supported in developing their own dance.
The different styles of Annalisa and Henriette blend sensitively and
open up a wide range of expressive possibilities for the participants. Trauma-informed Butoh
Henriette Heinrichs has been teaching Butoh dance since 1990. She studied Butoh dance with Shanti Oyarzabal from 1986 to 1987 during a two-year training course at the Etage e.V. School for Performing Arts in Berlin. From 1988 to 1990, she trained with Minako Seki and Yumiko Yoshioka. At the same time, she worked as a costume designer and dancer with ‘tatoeba-theatre-dance-grotesque’, the first German company. Among others, she took lessons from: Anzu Furukawa, Akaji Maro, Carlotta Ikeda, Kazuo Ohno, Yoshito Ohno, Ko Morobushi, Yuko Kaseki, Yukio Waguri, Masaki Iwana and Atsushi Takenouchi.
From 1990 to 1993, she worked as a freelance choreographer with the following theatre groups: ‘College of Hearts’ Berlin “Hagazussa” Berlin ‘Antagon Theater’ Frankfurt/M ‘RAMM Theater’ at Schloss Bröllin
She taught Butoh dance at the following institutions, among others: for many years with Annalisa Maggiani at Schokofabrik e.V. Berlin ‘Etage - Schule für Darstellende Künste e.V.’ Berlin ‘Department: Peace Studies’ at the University of Innsbruck ‘Frauen-Landhaus Charlottenberg’ In 1995, Henriette founded the 4 Jahreszeiten Training Berlin as part of the ‘Heinrichs-Swoboda-Institut für Körperorientierte Selbsterfahrung’ (Heinrichs-Swoboda Institute for Body-Oriented Self-Experience) and has been using Butoh dance in therapeutic areas ever since. butoh-tanz.de
Annalisa Maggiani, Butoh dancer, performer, dance movement therapist, MA in Art Psychoterapy, graduate philosopher, psychologist, Master in Authentic Movement(Art Therapy italiana). For 30 years, he has been creating numerous Butoh performance projects in collaboration with Butoh master Yumiko Yoshioka in Italy (Liguria and Tuscany) and Berlin. From 2003-2013 she is Artistic Director of the Butoh festival ‘La Danza di Confine’ in Lerici and Sarzana (La Spezia) and has studied Butoh with Yumiko Yoshioka, Kazuo Ono, Yoshito Ono, Carlotta Ikeda, Anzu Furukawa, Minako Seki, Atsushi Takenouchi and others. With her solo pieces, she has performed together with musicians and visual artists at many festivals in Europe. She taught Butoh dance for many years with Heinriette Heinrichs at Schokofabrik e.V. and and with Italian Art Therapy, integrating Butoh into dance therapy.
With her group Gest/Azione, she usually performs in public spaces, in village squares, underground stations, castles and quarries, always relating the story to the space. Since 2023 she has initiated the ‘Body Liberation’ with Yumiko Yoshioka, where Butoh Body Resonance meets Authentic Movement and ecosomatic- dance with nature.
