GYROKINESIS®
The GYROKINESIS® method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the lymphatic and nervous system, increasing the range of motion and creating functional strength, while massaging the internal organs through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It can be adapted to fit anyone ́s ability. By the end of a GYROKINESIS® session, one ́s entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance. It focuses on moving the spine in seven natural directions and the spiraling movements are smoothly and fluidly connected. Rhythmical breathing patterns provide the blood with fresh oxygen, and blocked energy is released. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath, and mental focus.
The class begins with a self-massage to awaken the body. This is followed by a variety of exercises which are practiced on a stool, on a mat or standing. The movements flow into one another and the postures are not held long. Rather, they are gently brought into a harmonious relationship with the breath, so that the exercises come to feel more like a dance. This flow of movement develops stamina and concentration.

Sonia Rodriguez was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias (Spain) She was dancer at Provisional Dance , Charleroi Danses , En-Knap , Gissela . Rui Horta Stage Works ,Gisela Rocha, Lanonima Imperial, Cia Cobos Mika, Cie Dysounbo, Cie Yann Lheureux, La Baraka ...... In 2002 she is awarded the Best Dancer of the Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid that gives her the chance to participate in the American Dance Festival .
Since 2002 she has her own Company, Cía. Sonia Rodríguez. Her first solo Caos was awarded at the 8th International Solo Dance event at Stuttgart and won the price for the best choreography in the Danza Calviá Festival 2005. Many of her productions have received state funding and have been supported through artistic residency programs. Her work has been shown in America, Asia, and Europe.
