Pamela Moraga holds a BA Degree in Choreography and Dance from U. Humanismo Cristiano in Santiago de Chile (2015). Born and raised in Chile, she has been a part of the independent Berlin art scene since 2018. Her works delve into contemporary social and political themes, which she seeks to translate into the physical medium of dance through her own interpretation. She develops and presents her projects in collaboration with other independent artists in multidisciplinary works on Berlin's stages. Since 2017, Pamela has been producing her own dance works. Notable pieces include "Un salto de fe," premiered in 2017 in Santiago de Chile, followed by "No es Necesario" in the same year, "Blue" in 2018 and 2019, and "Manual de Humanidad. Volumen piel," which premiered in May 2018. In 2019, she launched a revised version of her dance piece "To Take the Leap" in Berlin. This project became the foundation for the creative collective "Tanz den Widerstand," a collaboration with other Latin American artists. Since then, she has continued to develop self-produced dance pieces. Pamela's work as an independent artist has received support from Dachverband Tanz Deutschland. Through this organization, she created a solo work called "Suspended Earth," which will be featured in PAF 2023; and her latest project called "LATINX,” also funded by Dachverband Tanz Deutschland. In 2024, Pamela was selected to be part of the PAP mentorship program (Performing Arts Program). And her new independent small format piece, "Farewell - Requiem for a Friend," was showcased at the Festival Against the Grain. Additionally, in 2024, she has been developing physical practices aimed at maintaining dance training while also focusing on building community and sharing dance practices in various formats.
