Helge Freiberg

Ballet

This ballet class is inspired by the Vaganova system and incorporates my own authentic experience as a professional dancer to create a wholesome challenging joyful dance lesson in an atmosphere which invites to develop a new awareness of our muscle memory, musical skills and physicality…
The exercises tend to be a bit longer, choreographed in a connected way around changing main themes, always focusing on an organic healthy way of moving the entire body with a concentrated, yet free and flowing energy to offer the possibility of recognising automatisms and exploring new patterns.
A main focus lies in combining coordination through different dynamics, finding harmony by enhancing awareness of rhythm, breath and movement through our body. Questions are always very welcome and certain new elements will be explained in detail while I also like to break up the style of traditional frontal teaching so we get to enjoy and explore together.

Helge Freiberg is originally from Berlin where he completed the State Ballet School education and started his professional career. He danced in numerous ballet companies such as ballettmainz, Ballet du Capitole Toulouse, ballettamrhein Düsseldorf or Nasjonalballetten Oslo performing various main/lead parts in contemporary, neoclassical and classical repertoire and has worked with inspiring artists like Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Cynthia Harvey, Nanette Glushak, Nils Christe, Aleksander Ekman, Hans van Manen, Patricia Neary, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon or Mats Ek amongst many others.
