In this workshop we are improvising with voice, body and breath. We are going to explore the tonal and sonar possibilities of our voices and learn how to use them to create our own vocal/ musical art, including everything that breath, body, movement, sound, language, emotions - our whole being offers us, without using anything else, but ourselves as individuals and as a group. You can discover more of your own, pure and authentic voice, boost your musicality and find inspiration and support for your artistic work and/or creative processes in life. This work includes different kind of improvisation approaches. It includes circlesinging, a choral a cappella version of singing together. I follow the tradition of Bobby McFerrin and I am influenced of other improvisational approaches to voice such as the Roy Hart tradition or Rhiannon’s vocal river, therapeutic approaches and popular singing methods. Improvisation and Circle Singing live from the feeling of flow, from musical play, from repetition, from movement and from creating out of the current moment. You don’t necessarily need to be a performing or vocal artist to profit from this workshop, but it might be especially interesting to you if you are, or if you are about to become one.

You need to bring:

  • some previous experience either in improvising and or vocal training. If you are in doubt here,
    don’t hesitate to contact me!

  • exercise clothing

  • water and things for personal notes, if you want

  • musical openness

  • curiosity in discovering something new

Pamela Neuffer
Pamela is a professionally trained singer, actress and vocal coach. She spent 14 years on stage (at that time mostly with the name Zottele) in a wide variety of productions. She has also performed in various world premieres and created her own voice performance. Her own path as a stage and voice artist led her into the world of improvisation. This is where Pamela experiences singing freedom, her own creativity and the desire for artistic expression with body and voice most strongly. The combination of vocal training and free, intuitive and artistic approaches to the voice are also reflected in Pamela's pedagogy. During her additional studies in music education (Bachelor of Arts) she specified her own pedagogy, which is composed of different methods of physiological voice training, speech therapy, music therapy and improvisation.
