Caroline Neill Alexander

Caroline Neill Alexander received her BA degree in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She has performed and worked with Fog Beast Dance, Kathleen Hermesdorf’s Alternativa, and the Joe Goode Performance Group. For the past five years she has been living and working in Berlin, developing her own work as well as collaborating with other Berlin choreographers, such as Peter Pleyer, Alexandra Pirrici, the TENT series developed by Ivan Ekemark, and Shiaz Legs in the renowned Gaga Show at Schwuz. In her own work, she deals with the space between person and persona and the blurred reality of reality. Caroline’s aesthetic is physical, technical, and often consisting of unison movement, incorporating voice and text. These ideas were explored in her solo work, Full Moonay, Sharterlla: House of Desperation, The Oasis, and The Jungfraüliche Braut. She has also been developing a practice of the electric bass guitar for the past two years and incorporating it into her work.
